Application: MOLOIL® CLV is used as an antiseptic in oral infections, inhibits gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria as well as yeast. It is also used in dentistry to reduce pain and inflammation, particularly in cases of dental infections or when treating the pulp of a tooth.

SPECIFICATION

#TESTSPECIFICATION - USP
1 Appearance It occurs as a colorless or pale-yellow liquid, having a strongly aromatic odor of clove and a pungent, spicy taste.
2 Solubility It is slightly soluble in water. Miscible with alcohol, with chloroform, with ether, and with fixed oils.
3 Limit of phenol The mixture exhibits only a transient, grayish-green color, but not a blue or violet color.
4 Specific gravity 1.038–1.060
5 Angular rotation It is optically inactive or slightly levorotatory. The angular rotation is not greater than −1.5°.
6 Refractive index 1.527–1.535 at 20°
7 Solubility in 70% alcohol One volume dissolve in 2 volumes of 70% alcohol.
8 Assay Not more than 1.5 mL, indicating the presence of not less than 85.0%, by volume, of total phenolic substances in the Oil

PACKAGING

MOLOIL® CLV is packed in an HDPE drum or IBC packing having bar-coded label.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 2 years. Preserve in well-filled, tight containers, and avoid exposure to excessive heat.
